8 Days Rwanda Primate Safari
This eight day gorilla adventure safari in Rwanda will take you to Volcanoes park for the thrilling adventure of Gorilla Trekking, Nyungwe forest national Park for Chimpanzees tracking, nature walks in the forest, a visit to Lake Kivu and Ruhegeri.

NB: Gorilla Permits US$1500 & Chimps permit US$90 per permit per person are not included in the per person costs above.
Day 1: Nairobi – Kigali
Upon arrival at the Airport in Kigali you will be picked and briefed about your adventure trip in Rwanda by our representative. Go for a short city tour within Kigali and visit the Murambi and Gisozi genocide memorial sites after which we head to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Kigali – Nyugwe Forest National Park
After breakfast depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park. Have a stopover at the royal King’s Palace in Nyanza for a cultural description where you get an opportunity to learn about the history of Rwandan people then proceed for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Rwandan national Museum where you will get more information about the country’s history and culture. Proceed to Nyugwe Forest National park for dinner and Overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking adventure
After breakfast, you will assemble at the Nyungwe Forest Park offices to be briefed on the chimpanzee tracking expedition with packed lunch. Along the trek you will come across other wildlife species like velvert monkeys, baboons, among others. Enjoy a full hour with the chimpanzees observing their behavior and taking pictures before returning to the starting point for your journey back to the lodge. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Nature Walk at the Forest
Today after an early morning breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for briefing about nature walk in the forest from where you will set out for the forest walk which will enable you experience the park’s unique tourist attractions such as the waterfalls. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing .Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Kibuye town located on the shores of Lake Kivu.
Drive to Kibuye after breakfast which located on the shores of Lake Kivu. The town has one of the country’s most attractive lake ports which will offer you spectacular views of the lake. Spend the whole day exploring the lake and taking pictures. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Drive to Gisenyi – Ruhengeri.
Today, after an early morning breakfast, you will be driven to Gisenyi .The town is characterized by waterfront and sandy beaches which are perfect for relaxing. In the afternoon you will be transfered to Ruhengeri. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel while awaiting gorilla trekking the following day. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Gorilla tracking activity at Parc De Volcano
Today, you will go to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers. There are a total of 64 gorilla permits available each day with a maximum of eight trekkers visiting any one group.
The moment the trekkers are put into groups, each group’s Lead Guide briefs the trekkers of the trekking procedures in the presence of gorillas. After the briefing drive up the mountain to the starting point. Trekking can take from two to six or more hours if the gorillas move before the park rangers locate them. The guides stop frequently to allow trekkers a chance to rest and take photos along the way.
After the trek, transfer to your Lodge for lunch. Overnight at the Lodge.
Day 8: Drive to Kigali Airport
After breakfast drive to Kigali. Visit different memorial genocide sites and the different attractions. Proceed and have lunch in Kigali town. Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
