6 Days Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi & Lake Bunyonyi

This 6 day safari begins at Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will spot different bird species, elephants, buffaloes, hippos among others followed by the Gorge of Kyambura for a guided forest walk in search for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates.

DAY 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon arrival in Kampala you will be met by our representative. Drive towards the west through Ankole rolling hills. Stop briefly at the equator for photographs then head to Mbarara Town for lunch. Have a game drive as you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park on your way to the lodge. After relaxing head for an evening game drive where you will encounter the park’s attractions including different bird species and wildlife.  Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 2: The Gorge of Kyambura & Kazinga Channel

After breakfast, drive to the Gorge of Kyambura for a guided forest walk in search for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. This will involve some hiking. Expect to see different species of birds, butterflies and some primates. After lunch, ascend the Kazinga Channel and observe as the different species of game emerge from the woodland to the waters. After the launch trip, drive back to the Lodge and spent the afternoon relaxing. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Leave the park after breakfast for Bwindi Forest through Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth in search of the famous tree climbing Lions. En route, you are likely to see Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Kobs, Waterbuck, Leopard and Spotted Hyena. You will also tour the volcanic area of the park to view the phenomenal salt lakes and extinct crater lakes. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast depart with packed lunch for gorilla tracking. We will have briefing from the guides then set off for the gorilla tracking in the forest. Dress appropriately for an easy hike with rain jacket and jungle boots. The time taken to find the gorillas varies from 2 – 6 hours depending on the primate’s movements. An encounter with an earth shaking 350 pound silver back or a baby gorilla of the 650 left in the world is very exciting and never forgotten experience. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

DAY 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Lake Bunyonyi

Depart after breakfast for Lake Bunyonyi – the lake of little birds, best known for its profusion of  birds. Enjoy a boat ride on this beautiful narrow lake surrounded by green hills. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala

After breakfast depart the green hills for Kampala. On our return journey we will see herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns. Transfer to the airport for our return flight.
