Package Overview
This particular route is on the drier side of Mt Kenya and more scenic compared to Naromoru. It is on the northwest side near Nanyuki that the route starts. The climb begins through the forest into a wide ridge approaching the summit area. Sirimon route’s access is good and the facilities are proficient on this side of the mountain.

Day 1: Nairobi-Sirimon-Old Moses Camp
Depart Nairobi for Nanyuki town at 8 am arriving in time for lunch. After lunch head to Sirimon Gate. From the gate pursue the track uphill though the forest. Approximately3½ hours from the gate the hike brings us to Old Moses Camp which is positioned at 3300m. Dinner and overnight
Day 2: Old Moses Camp-Shipton Camp
After breakfast, track uphill branching left at the junction. An hour into the hiking brings us to Ontulili River. Climb uphill to Mackinders Valley. Here you are rewarded with panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Around 7 hrs later from Old Moses arrive at Shipton Camp, 4200m for Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Shipton Camp-Point Lenana- Old Moses Camp
Rise up at 2:30am and freshen up. Depart for point Lenana at 3am up a stony quarry that’s steep. Arrive point Lenana at 6:30am, taking roughly 3hrs. After sunrise, descend down to Shipton Camp, for breakfast. After breakfast descend down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and overnight, a total of about 10hrs hike during this day.
Day 4: Old Moses Camp-Sirimon-Nairobi
After breakfast, resume our 2-3 hr walk down through the rainforest to reach Sirimon Gate for your return transport to Nairobi.
