This is one of the most beautiful routes for Mt Kilimanjaro trekking. It is also referred to as the whiskey route. The climb approaches Mt Kilimanjaro from the southwest leading into the rainforest and follows a path that offers views of the main summit of Mt Kilimanjaro. The Machame route is characterized by steep passages and higher altitudes compared to the other routes and is slightly more demanding but the views are rewarding.
