This is the fastest and most popular route to point Lenana. Take this classic route up Mount Kenya. It is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Day 1: Nairobi-Meteorological Station
The hike begins at Naromoru Park Gate where we register and then commence the hike. The trek is simple and it’s an enjoyable walk through the forest. A few hours into the trek are breathtaking views down into the Northern Naromoru valley. Arrive at Met station 4hrs later 3,000m for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Met Station-Mackinders Camp
Head uphill on the track after breakfast. The trek leads to a path and after around 30 minutes, get to the end of the forest belt and enter the moorland. Keep trekking until the conditions improve and get to a fork facing Teleki Valley to reach Mackinders Camp, 4,200m. A total of close to 6 hrs from Met station. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Mackinders Camp-Point Lenana-Met Station
Leave at 2:00am for point Lenana which takes around 4 hrs to reach point Lenana by sunrise at 6:30am. After sunrise, descend for 2hrs to Mackinders Camp for breakfast and then walk further 4hrs, to Met Station for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Met Station/Naromoru/Nairobi 3hrs, 9km, 400m
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest which is 9km to Naromoru Park Gate at 2,600m for your return transport back to Nairobi.
